A Rise Retreat is an invitation to stop the madness and the noise, for a moment.

It is an invitation to slow down, quieten the spirit, and tune into the still, small voice of God, whispering to us by name, reminding us who we are and who God is.

On a Rise Retreat, you will have the chance to connect with others as much or as little as you want, and engage in new and ancient spiritual practices that are easeful, and nourishing.

If you long for unforced rhythms of grace in your life, come and join us for a time of spiritual refreshment.

Come and be with Jesus. He will help you recover your life, your heart, your fire.

Your Full Day Retreat Includes

We encourage you to spend time with God in the moments where you feel joy and peace in the Rise Rest Stops. 
Our Rise Rest Stops include spaces for art, craft, resting, writing or simply being.

A one hour relaxation mat class including Christ Centered Meditation. We encourage you to wear your most comfortable clothing and come and gather on the mats prepared for you. Breathe, dear Sister!

Embodied spiritual practices are an opportunity to intentionally open to what God might be wanting to say and do, in and through us.
They are a means for our Spirit to move with God’s Spirit.

Soul restoration and healing time, growing deeper in God’s word through guided meditation and group conversations. We encourage you to experience a deeper relationship with God in this place.

Rise Retreats will be facilitated by an experienced team. These women will create a space that is comfortable and safe. They will navigate the group through times of sharing in community and give the space for complete YOU time.

We have teamed with local producers and caterers to bring you a delicious, healthy and seasonal morning tea, lunch and afternoon menu. 

A relaxed time of feasting around the table is part of each Rise Retreat – you will be nourished with a wholesome spread.

Location information
Somersby is located on the Central Coast of NSW. It is approximately 90 minutes drive north of Sydney and 90 minutes drive south of Newcastle.
Public Transport
Gosford or Ourimbah Train Stations are closest to Somersby.
There is plenty of parking on the grounds of the Estate.

Meet Our Team

Rev Greer Hudson

Guest Facilitator

Greer is passionate about creating space for spiritual refreshment and spiritual growth. She values retreats as a unique opportunity for individuals, couples and communities to step out of the usual demands of life in order to explore the unforced rhythms of grace

Greer is a Minister in the Uniting Church in Australia, with a Masters of Theology. She is also a trained facilitator of Labyrinths (an ancient spiritual practice of walking prayer and meditation), and of InterPlay (an improvised, embodied creative arts practice). With this cross-section of training and experience, Greer brings a unique creativity and energy to her ministry as a Retreat Facilitator.

Transparent, warm, efficient, and friendly, Lauren enjoys planning and hosting each retreat to ensure the needs of all participants are catered to, and that the event delivers the kind of soul-stirring, restorative experience which she herself originally sought to find.

Lauren Harkness created Rise Retreats out of her passion for wellness of body and mind and a desire to create intentional time away for women to connect with God and themselves through community and mindfulness.
